In Parental Control Apps – iPad tips, we are going to be taking a look at the best options for parental control for iPads.
There are plenty of great options out there for controlling what kind of content your child is viewing on their tablet, and we’ll list what we believe to be the best options below.
Whilst there are other alternatives, such as monitoring software, we will be solely focusing on apps in this article.
ParentKit
ParentKit is perhaps the most extensive parental control app for your iPad, but it doesn’t come cheap, when compared to other options on the app store.
You can try out ParentKit for free for one month, but after that you will have to pay $24.99 for every 6 months of usage.
With ParentKit, you will be able to gain remote access to your child’s iPad. You can schedule access to certain apps, stopping your child from playing games or browsing the web late at night.
You can prevent in-app purchases and stop any new app installations. You are also given control over what content you can block, including music and videos.
There are many other features in ParentKit that give you full parental control over what your child can and can’t do on their iPad.
My Mobile Watchdog
My Mobile Watchdog is another great app that provides users with a variety of useful parental control features. My Mobile Watchdog costs $4.95 a month.
With this app, you can see phone call logs, read text messages, block websites, stop access to certain content after a certain time, and remotely block or grant access to each app.
My Mobile Watchdog does not work as ‘spy’ software, so your child will be aware that you are keeping track of their activity.
Despite this, there are many features for My Mobile Watchdog that make it an incredibly versatile parental control app for iPad, as well as other devices such as iPhones and Android phones.
MamaBear
MamaBear is a great option for those who aren’t willing to put any money aside for parental control features. MamaBear is currently in open beta, so you may end up dealing with a few issues here or there, but for the most part, it offers a great end experience for parents.
With this app you are able to check up on your child’s location, keep an eye on their social media activity, and even see how fast your child has been driving.
A lot of the features of MamaBear rely on GPS, and you can set up special alerts that will tell you when your child leaves or enters a certain area.
There are more alert features for social network monitoring too.
If you are looking for something with a little more control, you may consider taking a look at monitoring software. With monitoring software, you are able to view everything your child does on their iPad, and block content when necessary.
Whilst we haven’t gone into detail about monitoring software in Parental Control Apps – iPad Tips, you can find out more about monitoring software here.
